Work in Canada without an LMIA when a recognized exemption applies
The International Mobility Program covers multiple work-permit categories that do not require a Labour Market Impact Assessment. The exemption must still be legally available and properly supported.

How we approach International Mobility Program
Most applications are lost long before submission — in the strategy, the timing and the evidence. We start by understanding your situation in full, then decide whether International Mobility Program is genuinely the strongest route for you, or whether another Canadian pathway fits better.
From there the work is practical: confirming eligibility, building the file, preparing you for what officers will question, and keeping the strategy consistent from first assessment to final decision. You always know where your file stands and what happens next.
Because our team also works in business consulting, entrepreneurs and professionals get advice that considers the commercial and career side of the move, not only the immigration forms.

Potential categories Synova assesses
Decision-makers weigh a defined set of factors for International Mobility Program. Understanding how each one is read — and how they interact — is what separates a hopeful application from a well-positioned one.
Intra-Company Transfer
For eligible executives, senior managers or specialized-knowledge employees transferring within a qualifying multinational corporate structure.
International Agreements
Selected professionals, traders, investors, intra-company transferees and other workers may qualify under international trade agreements depending on nationality and category.
Examples can include:
- CUSMA
- CPTPP
- CETA / CUKTCA and other applicable agreements
Significant Benefit / Canadian Interests
Certain work-permit exemptions may apply where the proposed work can demonstrate the level and type of benefit required under Canadian immigration rules.
Francophone Mobility
Eligible French-speaking workers outside Quebec may qualify under a separate LMIA-exempt category when current requirements are met.

Business-owner positioning
Business ownership by itself does not automatically create an LMIA exemption. The proposed Canadian activity, role, business reality, benefit, corporate structure and applicable exemption must all be assessed.
03
Synova service
Our role is to turn International Mobility Program from a list of requirements into a managed file. We stay involved from the first assessment through to the final decision, so that strategy, evidence and communication with the authorities stay consistent.
